I made a new avatar last night, I call it the "ace of sage" but it's not really an ace since I couldnt find a nice free stock of an ace of spades card so I just used grunge brushes. The full version is attached, comments/criticism please.

Apologies. Pressed the wrong "Save Changes" button.

The X brush looks a little blurry to me.

The full size version or the actual avatar? The attached one is the full thing, I just resized it to fit the forum. The small one makes the brush look bad.

Both.I suggest using either the sharpen tool or use smart sharpen.

The face of the card looks great. but there's to minor problems I noticed:

-the card's edge is too perfect. Around the right and bottom there is a slight bevel that gives the card a 3d appearance, but it looks to perfect and sharp, as opposed tothe worn down look of the card.

-the shadow seems too big, as if the card is floating. Kinda off...

Yeah I was thinking about maybe trying a little tear on the bottom right edge... would that do the trick?

make it look burnt on the edges. Try using the burn tool and just erase some pieces off the card.

Okay I'll try that. I was contemplating different things... I spent a lot of time just making it look like the plastic was peeling on the edges. I'll try the burn thing, maybe have plastic peeling away from the burns.
