Google some sources for Roms or download them yourself and SSH them into your iPod.

It'll be much easier to SSH into your iPod than downloading them off of Safari.
Some ROMs are compressed in .zip, .rar, and .7z, so it'd be hard to extract them on the iPod (If possible, at all).

You CAN use MobileFinder to move the NES ROMs around, but you'll have to SSH to put the ROMs in, anyways.

You could technically use the safari download plugin, download a rom and use Finder to move it from the ~/Library/Downloads folder to the ~/Media/Roms folder.

however I don't know if finder will unpackage a rar or zip file for you (never tired), I do know this works in Terminal (with the correct packages), so its possible. But if you download a .nes file directly you wont have to worry about that.

There's no risk, install OpenSSH in your iPod and WinSCP on your computer.

In winscp enter your wifi address and root as user name and alpine as password, and there you go.
