    Hey guys,

I jailbroke my iPod touch 2G version 2.21 as soon as the first tethered JB was released. I used Redsnow Lite.

Now I see some untethered versions out.

Does this mean I will be able to turn the ipod off and on without having to boot it up on my laptop?

Also how would I go about going from tethered to untethered?

    Cheers.

Yes you dont need laptop anymore(for booting the ipod). Use redsn0w to jailbreak after restoring to stock firmware

This is the way i did..

    1. Restore to Official 2.2.1 Firmware in iTunes
    2. Use QuickFreedom to rejailbreak it.

Lot's of people will argue that redsn0w is better than QuickFreedom,
But i prefer it...my opinion though

just throwing my two cents in...

I vote for redsn0w. I started with quickfreedom and it worked fine, used it for a few months no problems. But i hated the bootlogos that i chose and if you use redsn0w as i did 2 hours ago, you can get Logome from cydia and change bootlogos on the fly

Just to confirm about 5 mins after posting the thread, I used Redsnow and JB it and it worked GREAT.

Now I can turn my ipod off and on like before!
