My first suggestion would be to switch to using a toolchain on your desktop instead of on the device. Its a lot slower, like you'll spend more time compiling things than you will writing code.

If you're on Linux, I'd recommend http://http://code.google.com/p/iphonedevonlinux/ for an easy-to-build toolchain. It comes with "Hello World" program for both the graphical system (UIKit) and the command line.

I would like to compile something on iPhone directly first

Later, I will switch to Desktop version

Windows is not really a development OS.

I am looking for a simple "Hello World" that I could compile from SSH with "make".

It should deploy the application so that the Icon appears in SpringBoard.

Can anyone you help me with this?

Can any one attach a FW 2.2.1 Compatible Hello World source code here.

I should be able to "make" it. and run from SpringBoard.

    That's is all.
