I remember a while ago, I changed a .plist file in my iPod touch 2G (running 3.0) in order to have spotlight search through my iPod.app. I'm really dumb and didn't back up the original .plist when I replaced it with the iPhone version, and now I want the iPod one back. Could someone give me instructions/downloads on how to change it back? Thanks!

Spotlight does search through music tracks. Which file was it ? And why would you change it with one from an iPhone ?

Does the iPod still work ?

just restore, we can't give you the .plist because that's illegal.

I don't remember which file it is. And spotlight doesn't search through music tracks on iPods with iPod.app, so you needed to put in the iPhone .plist file instead so it would search through iPod.app instead of trying to search through Music.app which didn't exist anymore. Could somebody PM me the .plist file?

It's N45AP.plist. You'll get a pm tomorrow, I shut down my PC 2 minutes ago.

Spotlight. The one that pops up when you press the Home button once to get to the fist page, and by pressing it once more takes you to a small text area with a magnifying glass that reads "Search iPod". We're talking about THAT Spotlight, right ?

Yes, I can search through my music with it. Just type in "me" or "love" or whatever.

We all have a 2nd generation iPod touch except for piratetom95 (who forgot - or chose not to to fill in his profile). I don't get it. Is my iPod special in any way because it can search through music without an iPhone "N45AP.plist" file ?

He combined his music and videos to make an iPod.app. But to make spotlight work, you have to replace a .plist. He's just looking for the original file, don't worry, your iPod isnt weird.

    PIRATETOM IS RIGHT!

The distribution of .plist files is strickly prohibited and is technically copyrighted Apple material.

Uploading a .plist file is just like uploading and illegally bought song.

Ive reported the gentleman who offered the private message download link.
