need help with this icon

    ok so i am just messing around making my first app and i decided to make an icon for it (keep in mind this is my first type ever using photoshop

    ok so basically i made my icon, however it has space around it that is white. i want this white to be trasparent? how can i do this?



    uploaded a png of it also i can upload the psd also if you need it

    why you need a download? just right click it and save it

    in the layers window, right click the background layer and hit "Layer from background"

    then click ok

    once that is done then you use the magic wand

    click the white area

    click delete and you will see a grey checkered background
    (That means its transparent)
