I know what ive been doing and ive had a jailbroken 2nd gen 2.2.1 ipod with
cywood for 3 months. It crashed and now wont turn on.
I know how to reboot it with cywood at step 5 but when i finish it does not
turn on and itunes says i need to restore it.
I know how to put it into dfu mode and shift restore but whenever i select
iPod2,1_2.2.1_5H11a_Restore.ipsw to restore it stops halfway through
the process and says itunes error message 6.
Anyone that can help please? People on heresay you cant brick an ipod but
    nothing has worked so far.

Try downloading quickfreedom and running the prejailbreak process all the way up to where you get the white screen, then restore with your firmware
    Also, it is not bricked

What do you mean it does not show up for you? It shows up for every one, jailbroken or not. What errors are you getting?

right after step 2 where you create custom firmware it goes straight to
step 3 recovery and restore which it says is for jailbroken ipods only
there it tells me to put ipod into recovery mode and shift restore on itunes
    with custom firmware
there is no prejailbreak that shows up for me
on itunes ive gotten error 1604
    thanks for helping so far

If you're having so much trouble with it, then DFU restore to a clean 2.2.1 firmware.
After you do that, download redsn0w 0.3 and jailbreak with it. Much simpler. It doesn't even require a restore.

right now im just trying to get my ipod to work again. I have tried shift
restoring in dfu mode with 2.2.1 firmware but that does not work for me.
I dont really care about jailbreaking it again but if jailbreaking it will some how
make my ipod work again then that is what i am following.
I have tried redsn0w 0.3 but it doesnt work as well and stays on the
downloading jailbreak screen for like 5 minutes and fails

Do what mitchell said, if your iPod is "bricked" (which its not), then it won't matter anyway.

Try if you want. Look up redsn0w tethered on here and it will give you even more info.

    Turn iTunes.exe off.

    DFU your iPod.

    Write in your XPWN:

    Quote:
    iRecovery -f iBSS211.dfu

You need to unplug and replug your ipod (you will get a white screen)

    iRecovery -s
    arm7_stop
    mw 0x9000000 0xe59f3014
    mw 0x9000004 0xe3a02a02
    mw 0x9000008 0xe1c320b0
    mw 0x900000c 0xe3e02000
    mw 0x9000010 0xe2833c9d
    mw 0x9000014 0xe58326c0
    mw 0x9000018 0xeafffffe
    mw 0x900001c 0x2200f300
    arm7_go
    arm7_stop
    /exit

iRecovery -f iBSS221.dfu (notice the 221 take the original in 2.2.1)

    iRecovery -s
    go
    /exit
Then iTunes should pop or open it yourself then Shift-Restore
