    Hi, the worse thing in my life just happened. My computer got infected with a virus and I was forced to reformat my hard drive. I wasn't able to do a backup prior to hand and this means I have lost my entire library.

    Fortunately enough, my nano has all my songs in it. Is there any way to transfer my songs over to my computer.

    There's loads of software out there but all of them are priced.

    Please help!!!

    No software needed;

    Enable Disk Mode ( I think you can do this without reformatting on iTunes
    Open the iPod in "My Computer"
    Enable "View Hidden Files and Folders"
    You should find a "Music" Folder in there.
    There's some folders in there, but inside those are your music files, just with different names. Copy to computer, add to iTunes again and Voila. All right names and album names etc still there.

    Worked a treat with 1G Nano when Hard drive failed.
