I've searched youtube, google, and multiple help forums.. but haven't seen anything related to what happened to my iPod.
I had previously jailbroken my iPod touch, installed a lot of apps (I have a 16GB ipod touch) and then used "BossTools" to relocate apps to allow more room for apps to allow more downloads. And then iTunes decided to update the iPod to 1.1.5 firmware.. that deleted everything off of my iPod.. so I tried to get onto my iPod..but when trying to open something like the "contacts" app..it just freezes. I can power off the iPod fine.. and restore it.
but everytime I restore it... iTunes says it has "102.8 MB of OTHER" data still on it..
I tried "Resetting all content and settings" and also tried restoring.. but that data remains there....I believe that is why it is freezing.. how can you get it off or is that the problem?
I would SSH it off.. but I cannot because I cannot download anything off of installer to allow the application on Windows "Cute FTP" (I think) to "open the ipod"

    Help?

Try a DFU restore or just upgrade to 2.0 and then jailbreak

you may want to try to go back to 1.1.1 and then upgrade back.

    Trying a DFU..
    ------------------double post merged------------------
Manual DFU didn't work.. although it did take the other data down from 102.8MB to 102.7MB
    haha
I'll try it on ZiPhone.. and then if that doesn't work I'll try installer and try to get SSH again

ok so I almost have it..

    I had restored it about 20 more times..and tried about 10 DFU's...
now I tried closing out iTunes before it had a chance to sync.. after jailbreaking..I was able to get installer and install OpenSSH
BUT..where does BossTools move the apps to.. I need to manually delete them

    Try DFU:

To put your iPhone in to DFU mode:

    1. Turn on iPhone
    2. Connect to PC/Mac
    3. Open iTunes
    4. Hold down power and home buttons
    5. Wait untill red slider appears to shut down iPhone - keep holding the buttons.
6.Wait untill the iPhone shuts down
    7. Release power button, keep home button pressed (if the Apple logo appeared you didn't release the power button quick enough - try again!)
    8. Wait about 7 seconds - iTunes should say there is an iPhone connected in "restore mode"

Your iPhone screen should be blank! No iTunes/Dock Cable logo.
if there is an iTunes/Cable logo you are in recovery mode not DFU!
Try again untill you are in DFU mode.

I don't think that is possible because I believe I still have all the apps I installed from using installer before the restore.
I got to download Open SSH and customize..and it's full lol
So..I don't think you start off with 400KB of free space to download apps

Yep, did that like 10 times.
    Thanks for trying though!

Whenever you do a restore to a firmware rather than a DFU it'll keep the WHOLE system except for songs etc, on your iPod/iPhone.
