So I've been having a bunch of problems with my iPod Touch the past few days and it wouldn't turn on past the apple logo for a while. This morning I did the pressing the restart and home buttons at the same time until iTunes recognized it and said it needed to be restored I clicked it to restore but it wouldn't go past "Waiting for iPod" in iTunes and on my iPod it shows the Apple logo with the update bar under it completely empty. That went on for a few minutes until I got an error message. I think it was error message 9. It then tried restoring again. Same thing happened but this time I got error 1611. Any idea how I can get this sucker restored. It's killing me! Any help would be greatly appreciated thanks.

Try DFU mode. That normally restores it successfully.

If its a black screen its in DFU Mode.
If it shows "Connect to iTunes" its Recovery Mode.

    Make sure you try both.
