My Ipod went back to a different setting and all its doing is making that little ring (like after you get something from installer) and then i can use it for about 15 seconds then it does it again. I tried to force into restore and it didnt work ( no power slide button came up).

Try connecting it to your computer and restoring through iTunes, or try force restoring, just hold it for a minute or so (sometimes it can take a really long time).

Hold power and home buttons then hold home button but release power button while its connected to your pc. When you then let go of the home button itunes will load the recovery driver and then it will recognise your ipod.

    Try again.

    1.Connect ipod to PC
2.Hold down power + home buttons until ipod restarts
3.Keep holding home button, but release power button. Wait 30 seconds
    4.Release home button
    5. iTunes should recognise your ipod in recovery mode

If this doesnt work after a few tries then you should probably take your ipod back to wherever you bought it as it would seem to be defective.

Sure... you can try to take it back, but if it's jailbroken you're obviously going nowhere because that voids any kind of warranty so...

And, I just fixed my friends iPohne last night by doing the force restore, so it does work but it took me a couple tries to get it right so be patient and stay calm and your iPod can be fixed.

Of course, whether they let you return it or not depends highly on whether they have the slightest clue about ipods etc so i would say if you just bought it from a high-street store or catalogue store or something like that then youre pretty safe for getting a refund. If youre within the stores return policy boundaries, of course.

BUT Try the restore some more, it works every time!
