So far, I am using this guide to semi-jailbreak my ipod touch 2g 32gb...
    http://www.ifans.com/forums/showthread.php?t=144041

I have done the whole thing numerous times and still nothing, my problem is that it keeps telling me to connect to iTunes and when I do it says I'm still in DFU mode and have to restore it. It does this after every step, even after I do restore it to factory settings. Its that picture with the USB and the iTunes icon.
The guide tells me how to fix it but its very vague and even when I try it... still nothing!!!
Please tell me how to fix it

Do you have an AIM? It would be easier to help there.

My advice, stick to regular tethered. Semi-tethered is too much of a hassle at the moment and requires a patch for almost every Cydia app in order for it to function properly.

USB and iTunes icon is NOT DFU mode, but a different recovery mode. You can get to DFU mode by holding power and home buttons for EXACTLY 10 seconds, and then releasing power, but continue holding home. You should have a completely black screen, but your iPod should appear in iTunes.

    Yeah, it's easier online.

Just try out TheHitman's GUI. It looks pretty easy to follow.

    Oh, didn't read it right.
Yeah, you're probably not going into DFU mode correctly.

No AIM, and its says on iTunes that it discovered an iPod in DFU mode. I don't know if I can even restore it right now

If iTunes is reading the device as in DFU then you can restore. Shift+click restore and restore to original firmware.

Well thats good. In order to restore to other firmware, the iPod must be in DFU mode otherwise it will not work.

Or are you getting this message AFTER restoring from the original firmware?
