Hello I just got myself a Ipod touch 64gb 3rd gen. And was wondering if it is possible to jailbreak. And if so what would be the best way?

    ~Edit: Version 3.1.2

Yea you can jailbreak it but it will be tethered. Meaning every time you turn it off completely you will need to plug it into your computer and rum a program. The best way to do it would be blackra1n. You can download it from blackra1n.com

    btw welcome to iptf!

Thanks! that sucks about the tether though, I have a tendency to always completely shut off my devices when not in use >.<

Once it is jail broken where would I go to get apps and stuff? and is there a install guide or something for them?

AppStore like usual, or Cydia for jailbroken apps.

an ipod touch is nearly like an iphone, which you never turn off(well at least i dont)

and you simply install stuff by installing. you might need a guide to get a specific thing to work, but installing is easy.

Thanks for all the help guys! so it's better to leave it on? I always completely shut my electronics off to save battery power.
