    Edit -

    I have:

    iPod Touch 2G
    MB Model
    iOS 4.1

I think the problem I am having is getting it into recovery mode or what it's called..? I tried using redsn0w the beta one I held the power button for 3 seconds then the home as well for as long as the redsnow guide told me to and followed it.

Kept failing..I also downloaded greenpoison to try that and now I've done something apparently and the ipod touch wont turn on..?

I hold the power button and nothing happens where do I go from here?

All while connected to a computer
    Home+Power for 10 sec.
    Home for 10 more sec.
    Restore with iTunes.
    Jailbreak with greenpois0n.

I had it connected to the computer of course when I was trying it yes. But my problem is now that the iPod Touch is not turning on..Should I still try to hold home & power for 10 seconds then home for 10 more seconds?

Yes. You'll go through a restore with iTunes. Upgrade to 4.1

I was already on 4.1 but okay I will try that.

Use limera1n to JB it. That's what I used, I have the same model as you have.

I was going to use limera1n but it says 2g isnt supported..That probably would have been a hell of a lot easier.

Anyhow I FINALLY got it jailbroken! My problem was I wasn't holding the power button long enough.

Really? Wait, I take that back, I didn't use limera1n, I tried it, but then Cydia didn't show up [I didn't read what it supports and what it doesn't]

Okay this is weird not sure if this matters but just as I finished jailbreaking (I restored before I did it). I went to open Cydia and just when I clicked on it my wifi popped up and so I connected to it.

After that it said running low on disk space or something like that? I'm not sure if I need to be worried about that or not..?

All I chose when I did the jailbreak with redsnow was multitasking, wallpapers, install cydia and I think thats it.
