Download winterboard, then look around these forums and the macthemes forum, you are bound to find a theme you like

Ok, now when downloading winterboard from cydia, what exactly do i need to do? the last time I tried downloading it i messed up my ipod completly, it asked to reboot at the end (it was the only option) an i pressed it, the ipod shut down an never came back on. Like it was perm. in DFU mode, my computer wouldnt recognize it or anything. finally I had to restore it completly

That's because you probably had the untethered jailbreak meaning your iPod wasn't going to reboot by itself.

If you have untethered, then it's find to reboot your iPod and when it done, WinterBoard will be installed.

With winterboard, you can change just about everything! Keyboards, lockscreen, springboard, statusbar, fonts, font colors, battery... everything. So winterboard is a must get.

MakeitMine lets you change your statusbar text...

Get some widgets! Weather widgets are awesome!

A good thing is to know how to ssh! Instead of using cydia, you can download it straight from your computer. It's fairly easy. I use a program called iPhoneBrowser. It's really simple to use. If I can use it... you can do it also. I just think it's more convinient than downloading themes from cydia because it's faster and you can preview what the theme looks like. Plus, it allows you to customize your ipod even more.
