You need to unplug your iPod for 1 minute, pug it in, and get into DFU, apply the 2.1.1 iBSS, and the redsn0w patch. Then try restoring.

Before attempting to restore to custom firmware, put ipod touch in DFU mode.

In the coommand prompt, cd(or locate) to the iRecovery_SVN folder and run the following command prompt Code: iRecovery -f iBSS211.dfu

Your iPod's screen will then turn white.
If it doesn't, unplug your iPod and wait 10 seconds, then plug it back in.

Then, in the same command prompt window type this
    Code:

    iRecovery -s
    arm7_stop
    mw 0x9000000 0xe59f3014
    mw 0x9000004 0xe3a02a02
    mw 0x9000008 0xe1c320b0
    mw 0x900000c 0xe3e02000
    mw 0x9000010 0xe2833c9d
    mw 0x9000014 0xe58326c0
    mw 0x9000018 0xeafffffe
    mw 0x900001c 0x2200f300
    arm7_go
    arm7_stop
    /exit

Hit enter after each command line.

Then proceed to iTunes while your ipod is still in DFU model. It should ask you to restore. Hold shift and click on it. It'll bring up an "open" window. Then just select the custom firmware from the directory.

If you still have trouble try looking at various guides or try a video guide.

I have the same error (13) as the OP. I'm sure I did everything right (as I've tried several different tutorials. I've never gotten 1604 before though.

Just to clarify, the iPod's screen should Still be white when i shift restore from iTunes?

If the entire screen is black, don't worry it's just in DFU mode. So did iTunes accept the custom firmware?
