need help editing certain files

    hey guys, i'm making a theme for the ipod and one thing i need to do is edit InfoPlist.strings files in some applications. does anyone know how to do it?.i always get weird symbols when i open them in a text editor...and ive tried the whole plutil -c xml1 /path to file/ thing but i never get an XML file in the said directory...any help from anyone would be appreciated

    Well I think if you get a Hex editor, you will see the files properly.

    still get some wierd symbols..and it doesn't show the whole file..just this

    bplist00Ó_NSHumanReadableCopyright_UISettingsDisplayName\CFBundleNameo_UIInterfaceOrientationLandscapeRight

    What Hex editor are you using? Does it have xml support?

    i used some XVI32 hex editor....can you point me towards a hex editor that supports XML?

    If you do the plutil -c xml1 thing correctly, it will open in notepad.

    But Uedit, doesn't need to be pulled correctly. It will open the file no matter what.

    i'm running Vista here....so Uedit won't work for me.....i did the plutil thing and it converted the file..but nothing happens

    i tried the plutil thing again....i keep on getting a bus error
