    Hey all,

I desperately need to downgrade my ipod touch (1g) back to version 2.x (from 3.0) because the volume slider is gone (my headphones are plugged in and its still not back). Is there any way for me to downgrade this on a pc? If there are ways only on a mac, I appreciate these responses as well. I heard of some way of using winpwn and getting it to the white screen and then restoring it. Does this work?

    Any help appreciated,

Enter DFU Mode, then Shift + Click the Restore button in iTunes. Select the desired firmware. Patiently wait. Done.

I've downgraded multiple devices multiple times using the exact method I posted.

Are you saying shift clicking restore doesn't let you choose the ispw? If you're on OSX, the key you press is different. I think it's alt.
