I need help! I have problems jailbreaking 2.0!
I did everything in winpwn. I saved the ipsw file..
Then Ipowned. Went to itunes. got my ipod touch into the DFU mode.. (Not sure, but think dfu.. think not recovery.. hope so!.. ) well itunes said its recovery.. so im not sure.. but. the screen was black when i started it.. I browsed that file.. started resoring it.. and a bit later the screen in the itouch became white and then showed the apple logo.. and then the itunes showed the following error:
The iPod iPod Could Not Be Restored. An Unknown Error Occurred. (6)...
    I need help!
Please chat with me.. it can be skype or google talk! or email.. (wolfnikita@gmail.com)
(Please answer in this forum before contacting me by skype or g-talk!)

If you get an error under 20, then you are NOT in DFU mode. Try it again.

I had the exact same problem
But I knew that I was in DFU for sure, but every said I wasn't
What I did was re-start the whole process, but with firmware 2.0.1
So restore to a clean 2.0.1
Then re-start all of it, my choices in the custom firmware were:
    - Install Cydia
    - Activate YouTube
    - And I changed the partition size to 551mb
Let it finish making the custom firmware, then PWN iTunes
Now get into DFU mode again like you used to.
turn it off, hold home and power for 10 secs, let go of power and let iTunes notice it.
Now restore with your custom firmware
    It should work.

P.S. I also killed all Apple and iTunes processes before this, but I don't know if that effects it.

I hope this helps, I know your frustration.
Every says you're not in DFU, but you are!

So should I start it again, but first install 2.0.1 and make the custon from the 2.0.1?
Also.. Can i choose ONLY youtube activation and Installer? not ccydia?
    Thanks

Yah, restore to a clean 2.0.1 and then re-start
    That's what I did
And I guess you could choose only Installer
But just warning you, Cydia has way more packages than Installer at this time.
You're old apps probably aren't compatible with 2.0, so Installer doesn't have a lot anymore.
You could, but I advise choosing Cydia
    You could always choose both.
I recently added Installer, so now I have app store, Cydia and Installer
    Your Call
I hope it works for you

Enter DFU mode by holding the home and power bttuon for 11 seconds until it shuts off. Exactly two seconds later let go of the power button and hold the home button for around 30 seconds until the computer recognizes it.

There are two ways, that's not the only way.
And yes, make a custom 2.0.1 firmware
