    Okay so i want to update my ipod to 1.1.3 from 1.1.1.
    My ipod tends to crash a lot, thats why i want to do a full system restore and upgrade! but before i do that, i want to back up all my applications, cuz i do not want to lose them! is there a way i can back up all my applications, upgrade, then restore it back onto my ipod?

    Why Is It So Hard To Understand

    Ssh In

    Copy The Media Applications And Library Folder To Your Desktop Then Copy Back In When Done.

    Media For Your Music And Some Apps Store Data Their Same With Library.

    How often does your iPod crash? If you have wallpaper set to dim in SMB prefs, turn that off.

    well i dont have dim settings turned on

    What it does is that the screen randomly just turns off, and then i have to keep pressing the standby button to turn it back on... usually it just flashs then turns back off then after a few seconds it would turn on.. when im listening to music though, my ipod just freezes on the lock screen... Music still plays, but nothing works on the home screen.. i think it has to do with the Catapillar application that i just recently installed...

    Anyways i still want to upgrade my ipod.. 1.1.1 is kinda of old
    Is there any other firmwares that are pretty stable that i can upgrade too?

    Mkay log into WinScp and copy the folder I said. Then when done jailbreaking 1.1.1 copy back the folders in winscp.

    Winscp=Program to use SSH

    Also I'm on 1.1.2 i think its the most stable.

    So folders to copy are the:
    - /private/var/root/media/
    - /private/var/root/library/

    Once im done this, I can copy this right back on to a jailbroken 1.1.2/1.1.3/1.1.4 firmware?
