MuscleNerd has just posted a video showing SMS being sent through terminal to an iPhone on the iPad 3G. Showing that in the future the device could be used as a fully functional phone.

This means that we could be looking at using the iPad for calls and picture messaging in the future. At the moment it is just a few command lines however expect a fulling functioning GUI messages.app a few weeks/months after the Spirit jailbreak has been released!

Basically via MobileTerminal is how it's possible. Hopefully we can get a Messages.app modified to work with it.. That would be epic.

    EDIT

LOL! Guess we do have a new baseband unlock.. Look up, the iPad says freaking T-Mobile! WOOO!!

The iPad 3Gs are unlocked to work with any carrier. I have using a T-Mobile sim cut to fit the MicroSIM slot right now.
