Once I had the right firmware is quite easy. But it takes at least 1 hour. So have some patience. It will also rescan you library and delete all music on your ipod so the entire process will take some time!

I needed 2 tries, but the good think I learned is that the Ipod is unbreakable. If you mess up all you have too do is press home + power and wait a little. The ipod will reboot. So don't panic!

After getting the 1.1.1 installed by using the guide I used the jailbreakme.com hack. Took about 1 minute. Had a little bit of problems getting from 1.1.1 over to 1.1.2. My PC could'nt see the Ipod for strange reason. I rebooted and then it worked. Once solved itunes updated to 1.1.2 automatically. The 1.1.2 jailbreak took about 5 minutes and needed 2 more reboots. I've then used the installer app and added "repo.us.to" as source. You find the Apple applications there.

Believe me, I'm no Ipod wizard and if I could do this, you can too.

    come off your high horse

you guys are way too full of you hot air. most people can follow direction if the directions are clear. And I for one didnt find them very clear at all. well that is if you enjoy looking here and looking there and finally hours later finding all the different and conflicting directions and then trying to figure the right order.

i would say...dont waste your time looking through this forum for the answer...use this webpage
