Does anyone know if this is possible? I'd love to be able to select text and copy paste from one place to another... my blackberry can do that... it's kinda silly that the ipod/iphone can't.

I third it. I have wanted to post links here from my touch, and I don't feel like writing them down and typing them in...

The blackberry doesn't have multi-touch, does it?

It would be sweet and should probably be added to the menu bar.

I think you should be able to just drag your finger over the text you want to highlight,
Then a pop-up box would ask you if you wanted to copy it,
Then when you want to paste there could be a button in the keyboard to paste.

I talk to many people who think any old touchscreen interface is comparable to the multi-touch when in fact it's not. We all want more features in the interface but we shouldn't be comparing apples to oranges (no pun intended).

If the iPod touch would be able to sense different pressure levels, then a quick flick could mean whatever it means now (scrolling, next pic, ...), and a longer press could mark the beginning of a selection.. Maybe for the next gen touch.

Don't see an other easy way for selecting (and copy/pasting) in ipod.
Hmm, maybe triple touching? Triple tap, then slide to select the text and it gets auto copied. should be doable. Triple tapping with 3 fingers should paste it then.
    Doable? I don't know

I too would like cut/copy/paste functionality. I was taking notes and then went to the Internet and then came back and put additional notes in the wrong note document/file. Cut/paste would be great.

Also cut/paste from the Internet to put into notes and a whole host of other usages.
