My Touch doesn't like being touched after 2 mins

    Hi everybody, got a bit of a strange one here.

    My touch (1G) has a problem with being touched! It turns on fine, I can navigate OK, then after aout 2 mins I cannot get the screen to do anything. Pressing the 'menu' button returns it to the menu and still not touch input works. If I press the top 'power' button off and then on I can slide to unlock...... and have my 2 mins of joy again!

    I got it about a month after they first came out, so I guess that's about a year now? I have done the recent software upgrades and to be honest I'm sure it started after I upgraded to 2.1.

    Any ideas??

    Restore in iTunes, and if that doesn't fix it, go take it to Apple as it may be hardware.

    No joy, looks like trip back to Apple then. Actually I think I got it from a retailer at the airport so I'll check. Probably minimal cover and no Apple-care..... silly me!

    I'm worried that my future purchase of an iPhone might go the same way.

    take it back to apple because it should still be under warranty
    or just do a restore and see if that helps first

    Had the same exact thing happen to me. luckily i was still under the one year warrenty ( by 28 days) they gave me a new one and im back in business... but i think they have intentionally break hardware.

    they came out around the 15th of last year...u still might have some time... return it to apple

    Lmao, do you people read at all? He said he has no warrenty because he bought it at a airport. 3 people told him to return it to apple because hes still under his warrenty after he posted that he bought it from a airport. Lol

    Uh... he never said he has no warranty because he bought it at an airport. Can you read?

    Does it say he got no warranty?

    All sorted, I was passing my local Apple Store, stopped by, used the quick drop service, 2hrs later had a call saying the would replace it with a new one. Collected it the day after. Nice one Apple! - considering I didn't even buy it directly from Apple.
