my power button on my ipod is broken, i think sand may have jammed it. I was at the beach with my friends and we were on the beach at night and all of a sudden I couldnt find my ipod and its pitch dark out! after looking for about an hour we finally found it sticking up bottom up in the sand, thank god! everything seemed fine at first, then i noticed the next day the power button was stuck, i can get it to work sometimes but a good amount of the time it stays stuck, everything else is working well, any ideas on how to fix it?

I would try tapping it lightly against a counter to see if that looses the sand in it.

i tried tapping it on a counter, didnt work, ill take it to an apple store or send it in or something if i cant do an easy fix, ive read that i can take the back off but if i do that and screw it up, i kinda doubt my warranty would cover that, so thats out of the question.

most likely, it will be under your warranty. they will blow it out if it's dirty. apple should always be able to fix something small like this.

I can get it working sometimes if i take an air compresser put it on reverse and try to get it to suck the crap out of there, then after testing to see if it is a fix, the button eventually gets stuck in there, i dont know whats going on

alright, I should probably restore it though, right? because I jailbroke it, its not as much a software problem as it is a hardware problem, so i dont know if theyd actually check it out, but just to be safe right?
