My new computer parts list, what do you think?

    This would be my first computer build but i have been planing out this parts list for about a month now and i think that i have gotten the best parts!

    Here is a list of the parts for my new computer, i have not brought any of these parts yet so please voice your opinion on them all.

    The total so far comes to $1,239.58

    Quad Processor Q6600 2.4GHz
    Corsair 4GB XMS2-6400
    LG Super Multi Security DVD
    Western Digital 640GB
    Corsair TX 650w Power Supply
    Cooler Master CM 690
    HIS Radeon HD 4850
    Asus P5Q-E

    Windows Vista Premium

    and right now they have a lot of sales on at the moment so...

    if you are in no rush
    then wait for the new intel processors
    they are MUCHHHH faster than every processor out right now..so its future proof

    Seems like a decent setup except for one thing. Your motherboards memory standard is not the same as the memory you selected.

    While sometimes you can use memory of a lower standard on a board with a higher one, it requires some serious changes to the BIOS settings.

    what is my motherboards standard? I dont want to mess this up.

    your mobo works on DDR2 1200.

    The RAM you had was DDR2 800 or soemthing.

    Also I am wondering how you got your total when I did everything you linked all I got about $989.60...

    But from what I can tell it going to be a great system....All the parts you pick are great....I say not a great deal but sure is a quality system...

    O dont forget to oder 64 bit vista...

    and you will need to get ram that works with your mother board or change your Motherboard cus ram at 1200 is not cheap.....

    It doesn't really matter, the CPU's FSB is only 1066Mhz anyway. 800Mhz RAM will do fine, but if you can get some 1066Mhz RAM then it might be good to match the FSB.
