    Hello,

I'd like to find out if my Nano is defective or normal.

I have the latest model, it's just a few weeks old.
Any video I take with the iPod has a soft background 'chirping' sound that surfaces every 15 or 20 seconds during the recording.

    Can someone please advise me?

    TIA

I just contacted Apple Canada and spoke with tech support on this issue after searching this site and Googling the problem.

Tech had never heard of the problem before.
They are recommending returning the iPod for service/exchange.

I'd still like to hear from anyone here if they have had this experience before. If not, my iPod is definitely defective.

Thanks. I did a search here before I posted and read that thread.
I have the latest Nano model, one that doesn't have a hard drive.
The post you mentioned is from 2007 when they had hard drives.
Also their chirping was related to mp3s. Mine is sound recorded onto videos.

I don't know if it's because Apple is always so nice or it's because their stock price is at a record high now, but it was a breeze exchanging my iPod Nano for another one yesterday.

I only had to wait about 10 minutes or so before I was served at my appointment.

The fellow confirmed the chirping and replaced my Nano with a new one.
I couldn't test it until I got home and charged it up, but my first brief video recording has no chirps!
