Hey guys, I'm a new user, obviously, but I've had my iTouch for about...hmm. Like 3 weeks-a month. Well, my jailbroken iPod touch's screen is completely black, and YES! I HAVE tried to put it into DFU mode but it won't even work then. I can still hear noises when I connect it to the computer. My computer says the device is not recognized and that I have no drivers installed! Please Help, I've put in so much work on this iTouch. Plus its jailbroken so I voided the warranty!: (
I'm sorry if this isn't where this topic is supposed to be, but I'm new, and desperate! Please, deal with me until I get the hang of it

Try to make it a bit easier to read...

Anyway back onto your problem. DFU will ALWAYS work. Is is writtern into the ROM. Just keep trying again (there is a good tutorial on iClarified's site) and use a stopwatch/timer. It's much easier that way.

Also, if you want to try and boot your ipod using irecovery that might help. (i'm not the one to ask about this

    Also, it's an iPod Touch

First, try DFU mode with the exact timings, then connect it to the computer, if it fails still then it's toasted and you can get it fixed under warranty as they probably wont go through the trouble of checking if it's been jail broken. Hell what do you have to lose if it doesn't work anyway?

I know its not toasted, because I can hear the noises of it connecting when I connect it to the computer. When I try to put it into DFU Mode, my computer makes the deep beep sound throught the process.
