To make this short and sweet, here is what the ipod does.
When connected, or not connected to a computer, the screen is black and is in DFU mode constantly.
When connected, the computer recognizes my itouch 2G as an ipod in recovery mode. (Even though it is in DFU mode). It tells me i should restore it, and upon restoring, the apple logo shows up, the bar fills after some waiting and restoring... and upon a "successful restore" the ipod is made to restart by the itunes program. And once again, it is in "Recovery mode", the screen is black, and is DEFINITELY stuck in DFU.
I've tried many things, but i want to see what more knowledgeable ipod enthusiasts have to say about this predicament.
    Thanks in advance.
