ok heres what happened. i accidentally stepped on my ipod and the screen cracked. so my dad ordered a replacement screen and installed it himself. everything went perfectly. Then when i tried to listen to my music the ipod played on full blast and i can't turn the volume down. when i remove my headphones the music still plays and doesn't pause.

i restored once and reset all the settings.

1G or 2G? Seems this would probably be a hardware issue and not software. Dont think restore would help anything.

Sadly, probably apple needs to fix this. Maybe you broke something on a board that controls volume? dunno. Sell it to me cheap. I dont listen to music on my touch anyway.

Or buy headphones with the volume control on them. Then you can turn it down.

Maybe the Touch Screen was repaired improperly? Or improperly installed?

I agree with this statement, but I think he should send it back to Apple.

Do not tell Apple that you replaced the screen or did anything to your iPod touch!

LOL. I would have dad remove the screen and put it back on and see if it works before I took it in. Might save a few bucks.

yea returning it to apple isnt an option. there are dents all around the bottom where my dad opened it. i might just get headphones with volume control.

it isnt the touch screen either. i just repaired the glass
