hey, i jail broke my friends 2nd gen, and a few days later he told me that the i pod wouldn't turn on. So i said, yeah ill fix it, because i could just DFU it. the prob is, the ipod wont turn on and DFU doesn't work. my computer doesn't recognize it, it doesn't even show the bubble saying that it doesn't recognize the pod. and i know how to DFU things, i did it a bunch of times before. This is not my ipod and i feel real bad that i cant do anything about it and im the one that jail broke it. ANY help whatsoever would be greatly appreciated.

What steps are you using to enter DFU? And DFU will ALWAYS be accessible, no matter how he alters the software. Just try try and try again.

Your obviously doing something wrong, or your button is faulty.

    DFU always works, no exceptions.

    Go 10 and 10 instead of 10 and 8.

You guys are doing something wrong, and I will guarantee you guys are either:
1)Not going into DFU mode properly
    2)A button is broke/stuck

Use the DFUtimer, to make sure your are doing it right....

then you obviously don't know much about DFU. You actually did it perfectly when you said:

no im holding it down for the right amount of time. instead of getting the regular chime. i get the pop sound and the usb thing in the bottom right hand corner pop up. is there a certain order you press them in? or is it just that you must have them both down no matter what order you press them.

After you get the pop, THEN DFU.
