according to whatismyuseragent.com, safari thinks I have an iPhone. I have been discussing this on the IRC channel and we are stumped. here is a pic of my useragent and a shot of the about screen to prove authenticity.

    EDIT:
I had several other people with both firmware versions 3A100a and 3A101a go to it and every other one said iPod where mine says iPhone

also, where as when most iPod touch users go to meebo.com they get the normal web meebo site, but when I go there it takes me to the iPhone site

Perhaps Apple didnt update the userAgent...or there's something wrong with the page...which i doubt...

That totally baffles me... unless your iPod for some reason got the iPhone's Safari and not the Touch's Safari somehow..

make a password, lock your phone, then try logging in a bunch of times(about 6 i think) using the wrong password, itll give you a disabled message (it only locks it out for 1 minute but the message it gives you is priceless) dont do it again or ill lock you out for 5 minutes

I dont want to because if my touch has anything that can be of use right now I dont want to get rid of it for no reason.

um, i know what happens, that is just apple being dumb. mine is an isolated case.

you got hella lucky with that, and that is completely odd

i am running the same FW version as you, and that site as well as moanmyip say its an iPod running mozilla 5.0

i really wish Apple didnt f*** up quite so badly on this one, it had some potential
