    Jailbroken.

It takes about 5 min to boot up whenever I restart it. Generally everything seems to be loading slower as well. Is there an App that lets me tune up my ipod touch 2g? I downloaded the Free Memory App and that seems to only be a temporary fix. What can I do?

What have you installed since you last jailbroke it?

Tweaks, themes, etc. Themeing an iPod with winterboard generally causes it to perform sluggishly.

It is probrally that you have a lot of crap on it like music, videos, apps etc, which causes it to start up slower because it has to load a lot.

If the iPod can't deal with 29GB of content without it slowing down, Apple should stick to making just 8GB and 16GB models.

Why should he delete some songs?

It's jailbroken, maybe that's why? If so that wouldn't be Apples fault.

I have about 26gb worth of stuff on my unjailbroken iPod and it works smoothly.

Yes, you're right. I suspect he's running themes and the like. Downside to jailbreaking...I'm also happy on an unjailbroken 2G Touch!
