Hi, I just got a new iPod touch 4th gen with 64gb. My brother has had a iPod touch 4th gen with 32gb for a while. When he goes to my room, he gets perfect signal with 2 bars being the weakest, but when I go into my room I get no signal at all. If I leave the room with the router, my signal automatically drops to 1 bar and if I move any further away it drops completely. I've reset the network settings, rebooted the iPod, rebooted the router (multiple times), gotten a new ip address, upgraded my router to the latest firmware, and done everything 2 hours of searching online for a solution told me to do. But I still can't leave my living room without the WiFi dropping. I'm extremely frustrated. PLEASE HELP!

Sounds to me like a hardware problem. Take it into Apple, they'll replace it with a new one free of charge. :)

Okay, well what if I didnt get it straight from apple? Like, I got it from someone on craigslist but it was practically brand new. Absolutely 0 physical defects (it looked fresh out of the box). the guy said he used it once. Will they still replace it?

Is it still in warranty? Then yes.

You can try to bring it in and see what they say. Usually they just take it back without asking any questions.

if its in warranty. they will.

if they dont, ask them if they know how to fix it. ie 3rd party repairs shop.

If they don't take it back, phone the person you bought it from and tell him/her it has this problem. If he/she is not a dick, ask him/her if he/she could take it back to Apple and replace it with a new one, since it's his/her iPod and he/she has the warranty on it.

By the way, is this person a man or women? :p
