I got a new iPod 4G on Black Friday. It was working fine, the battery lasted pretty long.

I jailbroke it this Monday. Since then, it's been draining REALLY quickly. Even if I'm not using it. I've tried turning off all the apps that are open in multitasking, and putting it in airplane mode, but it doesn't help at all. I don't fetch data all that often.

If I leave it fully charged, with no apps open, and come back to it in a few hours, it'll be drained. What's wrong with it? I installed Winterboard, [PIRACY], SBSettings, a few themes, and that's it as for what I've done with the jailbreak.

    *cough don't mention AppS*** cough*

This doesn't seem normal to me. I have the same tweaks you do (and more) and my battery only drains ~10% within 12 hours.

I would try a DFU restore and see if the battery drains even when it's not jailbroken. If it drains fast, return it.

winterboard uses mobilesubstrate which is a process that runs all the time. that will drain the battery a lot

I'm not using [PIRACY] for anything illegal, just apps I already bought that I was having trouble syncing.

I didn't get the warranty, because it was like $50, though. :/

    What is a DFU restore?

But not as quickly as he says it is draining right now... This is not normal, bring it to the Apple Store. I have WinterBoard installed and it doesn't drain the battery that much.

Try using it unjailbroken and see if that fixes it. Some people have said that the jailbreak itself causes faster battery drain.

What did 4.2.1 fix/add, exactly? Improved battery life? Anyone got a list?

Stability and speed are the two main things for the iPod Touch 2G. IDK if the 2G gets AirPlay and AirPrint (your account says you have a 2G).

For the 4G, you get everything:
    -Speed and Stability increase.
    -Improved Battery life.*
    -Ticking noise removal
    -Airplay
    -AirPrint
-Find My iPhone service for free
    -Others
