After Jailbreaking and enjoying all the wonderful app. and games, I noticed that my ipod touch keeps shutting down alone (and I mean shutting down) after I leave locked for a little while.

So every time I want to use it it turns on showing the Apple logo as if I had shut it down.

I know how to shut it down (holding the stand by key and red sliding).
and yah, worth mentioning I recently updated the firmware to 1.1.4

Does any one know what is the problem?
I was thinking of restioring, but I'll have then to download all the applications again..boooring.

    Thanx in advance.

So you're saying that you put your iPod to sleep, and when you turn it on it's as if you had fully turned it off?
I know old iPods went fully off if you left them sleeping for a while.
Also make sure that autolock is off in preferences. It might make a difference.
Check to see that your battery life is good. That might be an issure as well.
Well, make sure that to turn it off all you do is push down on the power button.
If you download soemthing through installer, and your iPod reboots, does it turn fully off?
What apps have you recently installed? Was summerboard/customize one of them?

Just trying to help you diagnose the problem.

"So you're saying that you put your iPod to sleep, and when you turn it on it's as if you had fully turned it off?"

    Yes that's totally right.

Also make sure that autolock is off in preferences. It might make a difference.
I turned the auto lock off, I'll try and see what would happen, I hope it's the case, thanx

Check to see that your battery life is good. That might be an issue as well.
    The Battery is perfect

If you download something through installer, and your iPod reboots, does it turn fully off?

Actually No, It only shows the rotating circle in the middle of the screen for few seconds then the ipod is locked not shut down.

What apps have you recently installed? Was summerboard/customize one of them?

I downloaded "Stack" but it didn't work so I uninstalled it,
    and No I didn't download summerboard/customize

Thank U very much "wearmaize" for your help, really appreciate it.

unfortuneately you'll have to restore. download the latest version of iphuc, connect your ipod to your computer and open iphuc. once it is connected to iphuc type this command in:
    enterrecovery
this will put your ipod in to restore/recovery mode so it can be restored.

Turning off the auto lock didn't work

Can't I restore it using one of these methods:
    1-Restore Button in the iTunes
    2-Restore from the ipod itself
3-I jailboke it using "ZiPhone v2.6", can I use the "Refurbish" option, it says that it will restore the ipod

    Thank U all

I had the same problem, and did a clean restore to 1.1.4 through iTunes but the problem persists.
I got on to Apple this week and they're taking it in to look at.

I'll let you know the outcome.

    Take ipod to Apple

    Thanx "Jwharmsby"

I hope they can fix it, coz sometimes -as like what happened to my cousin's ipod classic- they kept it for around 3 weeks, and in the end they gave him a new one, that's OK too.

Just a Q: Did U jailbroke your iPod?
I'm was thinking : what if apple have a way to know that an iPod was jailbroken or not, even if it was restored.
    Hope not

restoring wipes all of your files clean. Just be sure not to restore from a backup of your iPod. Then they probably will be able to tell.
