So let me start off saying I RESTORED from 4.0 to 4.1 in order to get the faster 4.1 update. I tried to jailbreak with redsn0w 0.9.6 b1 and it got stuck on waiting for reboot. I rebooted manually and it would NOT boot. I restored my iPod in recovery mode and it would not kick out of activation mode. I rebooted and here is what happens:

My screen is totally black, it does NOT reboot, and cannot go into DFU mode. What do I do?

MC 2G Model 8GB By the way!

EDIT: FIXED! It turns out that even though the iPod was unusable, something went wrong with the USB drivers on my computer so I plugged it into my Mac and restored. All is good.

Connecting to iTunes does not report an iPod found in recovery mode? If yes just restore it to 4.1 or earlier version if you do have shsh blobs for it. It should not be bricked.

iTunes recognizes it, but gives iTunes gives an error. Something like "iTunes cannot connect to this iPhone 0x000XXXXX" (XXXX = numbers)

Nevermind. Cannot get iTunes to recognize it.

iPods cannot brick *facepalm* I've stated that like 90 times already on here.

1.) Plug it into a charger for a few hours to make sure its charged
2.) Try to turn it on.
3.) If it does not turn on, plug it into iTunes. iTunes will handle the rest. You'll likely have to restore.

Yes it says that but weeks now many of us are trying on mac, and now on windows and its not working, they provided some minor assistance about the "waiting for reboot" problem but it doesnt help at all, i tried it on my 2 macs, on my hackintosh, on a windows 7 desktop, on a windows xp laptop and a nother vista laptop, it just not work at all, they really should remove that this device is supported, its not, at least yet.
