all of a sudden, when i plugged my ipod touch into itunes, it said it was an iphone. and on the bottom, it said 7gb of others, instead of like 5gb music, 1gb music, 300mb others and such. and i cant sync my music at all since it says theres no more space. what do i do?

WAIT, this happened to me, all I had to do was simply unplug it and plug it back in another usb or restart the computer and plug into a different usb

wow. i wish i read your posts before. but right after the first two post said to restore i already did it and such. took me like 5 hours to resync all my music (i have usb 1.1 not 2.0) and then i spend the whole night jailbraking and modding my ipod touch. its all back to normal though. thanks for all of your help.

This happened at BestBuy once. It wasn't jailbroken, it had no music; it had nothing on it except for the default apps. I went to go look at it and a rep said "Yep, that's the iPod touch. It thinks it's an iPhone." Apparently, somehow it got confused.
