It works fine I guess, but it won't connect to iTunes on my computers, it's screen is cracked, the apps will crash and send me back to home after a few seconds. It won't let me buy anything from iTunes or the app store, and I was wondering if it's worth it to get a 2nd gen touch (because this is a 1st gen) and put all my junk on there. Which leads me to ask if it's possible to get my 200+ songs that aren't saved on iTunes and my $100+ worth of apps and memory onto a new iPod? Because if I can I'm getting a new one ASAP.

yes you can, i am guessing that you have dTunes installed correct? you simply need to ssh to your ipod and find the folder for dTunes and and then find your music files, just copy then to the desktop. lastly for you apps they are saved on your computer in iTunes, unless of course you used [PIRACY]us, which is highly illegal.
