I have a €30 pair of Sony earphones. When I listen to my iPod using them, the left ear crackles and sometimes Ive to rotate the connector to get sound in the left ear. Dying earphones, right? Except, there's no sign of damage to the earphones, AND they work fine in my PSP, my laptop and my brothers Creative Zen.

My brothers earphones, and a spare pair of cheap earphones both work fine.

    So to summarise:

My earphones work fine in every other device.
Every other set of earphones work in my iPod.
My earphones don't work properly in my iPod.

    What's to blame here?

Which is the difference between sending the device back to Apple or buying new earphones. Bit of an important distinction.

    So your answer is...either?

"Thats even more than less than unhelpful"

It is strange. I have had that problem with a headphones divider. Works on one machine and then fails on another. Do the apple headphones work?

I think it's just some strange thing happening with your mix of devices there. I really don't know what else to say sorry.

How do you expect me to know which one is broken with the information you gave me? try other headphones on the ipod, if it works properly, then the other headphones are broken. If not, they your ipod is broken.

    Your Sony Ear piece.

Get a new one and test them on the spot to see if it works.
If it does, Your Sony ear piece is probably Spoiled in places where Apple Ipod requires them to work while other mp3s do not.

If its Brand new then its probably not Compatible with your Ipod.
