ok so I am out of reach of a free wifi hotspot at the min but wanted to look something up in cydia so I let it load get unable to load on the home screen (which I know is normal) but when I click search then click in the search text box cydia ALWAYS crashes it's just frustrating as hell

EDIT: add clicking on manage then packages/sources also makes it crash

yeah i realised that. It's fine when connected to wifi but as soon as i'm offline it's crashing continously. I booted into safe mode and tried then but to no avail. It means there's something wrong in the installer itself and not an outside extension. I'm waiting on an update for saurik's magic

the only reason I would use cydia offline is to do manual install and thats no proving to be a dead end grrr

    Mmm. :/
I remember I used Icy back in the day to un-install when I wasn't on a Wi-Fi spot.

I'm not on about uninstalling I mean to actually install something, I tend to find something mentioned spot it on cydia and then using my browser (assuming I will have access to the repo) I download deb files upload to ipod via usb and iFunbox and run mobile terminal with the install command and I'm good to go, but cydia under 3.0 is proving difficult lol

Lol. I know, Cydia fails on 3.0 right now. I was forced to use Icy.

Props to RiPDev for having an app that didn't fail on 3.0
now I just have to wait for Jay to fix the best application in a jailbroken iDevice.

While it might be the placebo effect, using Icy (or MobileTerminal, or SSH) to remove Cydia and then reinstall it speeds things up a lot.
