My first illustrator image: Need help on shading.

    Well here it is: Problem is, I can't shade if my life depended on it. I cannot imagine where shadows would appear etc... Could someone quickly make a mock-up of where shadows could be?

    Instead of just having the corner of the objects shaded , try shading the whole side.
    If you know what I mean.
    I will shade a bit of my hong kong pic so you can see , give me ten mins

    You can kinda see how I was doing it.
    That's how I would / usually do it anyways.

    try to make it blend into the sides not just stop so u can see sharp edges.

    Hmm, what about the sides of buildings? For example, the fairwood takeaway on the right (Orange place)
