Well here we go, i restored my ipod to try the new " automatic " method

so i went on the site, installed it, everything went fine, the ipod retarted by itself. The installer icon was there and all

But a bunch of stuff from installer WOULD NOT INSTALL ( the cruscial file u need after jailbreaking using that method " BSDSUBSYSTEM" was not installing at all ) and installer itself would give alot of errors and crash alot, same with some of my apps , i had safari crash once or twice.

So , i decide to do it the old fashoned way, the .bat file method, i restore my ipod and do it .

And my IPOD works PEREFECTLY..everything works, nothing freezes, everything installs from the installer..

so, i guess dont try jailbreakme.com , a bit dodgy imo.

the old fashioned method works best.

    - just my 2 cents and my " little" re-hack exprement.

however, have any of u done it off jailbreakme.com and have perfect jailbroken ipods?

I also tried jailbreakme.com but after installing some apps, when I open the installed app, it just closes. So far, only summerboard is working for me.

What do you mean "but i cant seem to get at amb prefs" ??

If you are talking about SMBPrefs, you have to install Summerboard first from the Installer app. Once you do that, then you will have the icon for SMBPrefs (summerboard preferences).
