So far it's been my parents paying for my cell phone stuff. I've always wanted an iPhone, and since I get paid around $630 a month. (About $200 for me, the rest for life essentials) I was thinking of paying for my own phone.

However, two factors are killing me right now.

    1. I got an iPod Touch 4G for my 18th birthday this September. Now I feel I lost out a bit.

    2. No unlimited Data? Every other phone company offers it but not AT&T? Why not? This really bothers me.

And to iPhone users.. was/would it worth it if you were in my situation?

why would you wanna pay all those monthly expenses anyway? you have an iPod touch 4G, with HD video recording and the same retina display as the iPhone 4. sure the iPhone is sexxxyyy but not worth all the monthly cost, IMO.

I guess it's because the product has always appealed for me but never could get it. I've always wanted an iPhone. However, I'm also going to College.. so maybe it wouldn't really be needed since I should save the money or buy a new Macbook for school.

you could just buy an iPad and use it for college, especially since colleges have free wifi, so you can do all your surfing on the iPad.

iPad? I was thinking of that too. But for $500, I'd rather save up another $500 for a new laptop.

    true!
    hmmm.. quite a dilemma.
i have no idea how much data iPhone users use, so maybe the amount AT&T offers is enough. do a little research, or wait until an iPhone user answers this thread.
if it is not enough or not worth it, i say get an iPad, or save up for a laptop.
