I own an 8gb 2nd generation iPod touch (3.1.2), and today it underwent a jailbreak using jailbreakme.com. It worked flawlessly, up until my music somehow got erased. I connected it to my computer only to find that my music section in the ipod information, had been moved to other. So instead of 3gb of music, I now had 3gb of "other". I used the erase all files option in the ipod itself, and now it is in dfu mode and needs to be restored. My question is this, is there a way to install a firmware (preferably 3.1.2) instead of 4.1? Is there a way to install a firmware without undergoing the default restore option in itunes? Thanks for the help in advance.
