    Hi,

I've just had my new iPod touch 4th gen (32gb) delivererd... and am trying to "link" it via bluetooth.

I've gone into Settings > General > Bluetooth, and enabled it.

Then all it seems to do is sit there saying "Searching" (with the "loading" image moving) ... but it never seems to find my device

I have bluetooth enabled on my phone too (as I use it to connect to my hands free in my car)

Can anyone suggest what to try?

I used to have a 2nd gen one - and had exactly the same problem

My brother seems to be able to connect his "Nokia" to it fine - but my one never seems to get "found"

Did you set your blackberry to be discoverable? And not every device will be able to be found. Try searching for the iPod from your blackerry.

    Hi,

    Thanks for the reply

Yup, its definatly enabled. I'm really confused as to why it doesn't wanna find it

Gonna *really* suck if it won't let me connect - as that was one of the main reasons for getting the new version - as I was lead to believe it could connect to my blackberry via bluetooth

most devices are not able to connect to the ipod touch as its a closed bluetoooth able to connect to iphones, other ipod touches, speakers, and earphones only. for the most part sometime something will work but very rarely. jailbreaking has tweaks available for that.

You cannot Pair phones with iDevice's Bluetooth. Apple never allowed it.

    Hi,

Thanks for the reply. What exactly is "jailbreaking" ? Will it invalidate my warrenty at all? I know blackberry are really funny about you "messing" with their software

Erm, so how can my brothers Nokia connect via bluetooth then? Seems a bit crappy if you can't connect bluetooth - and thats a major feature screwer! My end "aim" was to try and connect my blackberry via the ipod, so I could utalize the internet from my phone .

Also, just had a look at the "jailbreaking" stuff ... but doesn't seem like it will work on my version? (says its too new!)

of course it viods your warranty but just restore and your warranty returns as its undetectable afterwards. jailbreaking is the lovely art of running unsupported code and 3rd party apps on idevices.

If you jailbreak, you can do it. It will only void your warranty if you bring it to the store with it jailbroken. If you simply restore before you go, they can never find out!

    Ah ok cool.

Still having a look around on google, and doesn't look like "jailbreak" has been released for the 4th gen though?
