What is the best format to have your songs/albums in when putting them into your iPod touch?

I know MP3 is gonna be a popular answer but What do the other choices offer?

    Like AAC FLAC VBR etc..?

Please help. I want the best sounding audio

It really doesn't matter. The supported formats are equally as good for 99% of people - the subtle differences and nuances are negligible and relevant only to audiophiles with high-end headphones.

Video is a whole different story though.

Apple Lossless, since the iPod Touch doesn't support FLAC files.

just use mp3. you won't be able to tell the difference, and even if you can, it would hardly matter.
