I just plugged in my ipod and looked at my music and there is nothing there anymore! this is the same with the videos but but ipod says it has got 7.59 gb worth of 'other' content on the ipod. What should i do? If i restore and put the music back on the ipod will i loose my software upgrade i payed for?

    Cheers

I think you're stick with a restore. You will not lose the upgrade that you paid for. You can sync it back to your device.

Yes, that or you will be prompted to re-sync the upgrade. I have not purchased it, so that's why I'm being slight unspecific.

    Don't restore yet!
There is a solution that has worked for some people!

Go to Settings > General > Reset All Settings

Try it more than once. If it doesn't work after 3 times, then restore.
