Hey, I did a search, but I still can't find how to make the alarm play music instead of those annoying and too quiet beeping sounds. I don't mean using the speaker built into the ipod; I want the iPod to automatically turn on at a certain time and play a specific song, album, or playlist that I have. My external speakers don't have an alarm function built in like the iHome, or I would just use that, but when I had the 30 GB iPod photo, it would wake me up every morning with music, which was great. The other thing it had was a sleep function, so that I could leave it playing and it would automatically turn off after a certain amount of time. This doesn't seem like it would be that hard to do.. if anyone could make a mod for the clock app to do this, that would be awesome, and I don't have much programming skills, but if someone could point me in the right direction I'd be happy to try to make the mod myself. Thanks for any feedback.

I know but it sounds damn near impossible to just make up a way to do it

you can make your own alarms on the classic
Im pretty sure there is a way to do this you just need to find the alarm file and create the same type of file.

The problem is that the alarm routes to the speaker and not the headphones.. I'd need to know how to change that and integrate the music app into it somehow.

Actually doesn't it play on both? Headphones and speaker? WOULD YOU LOOK AT THAT!!! I actually did it... and you said its impossible PFFT...

Just SSH into your ipod go to /library/alarms.
Convert a song you want into AIFF format
change the song name into alarm1 (OR 2,3,4,5)
Then replace it with the one on your ipod.
Note: This will only work when you have a headset or speakers connected. the internal speaker will still play the annoying beeping sound that doesn't wake you up.

I dont take credit for this. I read it somewhere in the forums. not sure who found it though :S
