ik that the iPod Touch 2G and iPhone 3G can't have multitasking So don't post make sure you don't have those IK I DON"T. But my problem is the little thing pops up but if I am playing doodle jump and I change to TextFree then go back to Doodle Jump Doodle, Jump starts over again. Is this just cuz it's in beta or is this the all hipped up multitasking cuz then it's nothing but a short cut to change apps.

Devs need to implement multitasking APIs into their apps. until then multitasking wont work in app store applications. 4.0 is for devs to test if their apps will work for the GM when it is released

    . Hope that helps

Well when you watch the keynote steve jobs says that it's built into the iPhone/iPod so the devs don't have to add anything

Well they do because he says there are new APIs for devs to add so you can bring them new features to app store apps. The APIs are built into 4.0 SDK to work on the 4.0 firmware. They are showing beta apps like pandora and skype with the new APIs that the devs have built into apps to show the public what is achievable.

Apps have to be updated to work with the newer APIs available in OS 4. This will enable 'multitasking' (which isn't true multitasking, at least not in the way people are used to on computers, which have much more powerful hardware).

You have a better way of putting it than me lol

Yeah I know, they have to add more lines of code for the backgrounding APIs to work.

That is what I said, adding the APIs and resubmitting the app to apple is 'updating' it.
